Ms. Melanie is currently studying at the University of Houston to earn her bachelor’s degree. She has been playing violin since 6th grade and is currently a junior in college. She pursued orchestra all throughout middle school and high school, where her passion for music began. She participated in the region orchestra, as well as the CCISD solo and ensemble competition where she earned a gold medal for a solo/group ensemble. She has also engaged in several orchestral activities including camps at Baylor University and Sam Houston University where she was under the direction of highly acclaimed musicians. After growing up in orchestra and choir throughout school, she wants to apply the musical knowledge she has earned to help students grow in their musical careers.
She has performed with the Friendswood United Methodist Church where she honed her skills to help lead sectionals and guide others with sight reading orchestral pieces. Since then, Melanie is currently playing with a student-led orchestra, collaborating with other students to perform various classical pieces.
Ms. Melanie wants to build an encouraging environment with her teaching style where she can share her life-long passion to ensure confidence and creativity in her students.
